Business Transformation Intern
Location: 20 E Thomas Rd. Phoenix, AZ 85012
Timeline: 10 Weeks Beginning June 3, 2019
As a Summer Intern in our Business Transformation function, you will participate in a paid program designed to provide you with real-world experience. You will collaborate cross-functionally with teams throughout the firm to identify and propose innovative solutions that deliver extraordinary experiences to our advisors, drive short- and long-term business growth, and address control gaps to minimize the firms risk. In this position, you will gain broad experience and exposure across Advisor Group.
Innovative mindset, constantly looking for better ways to improve business processes
Leverage data analysis to assess end to end process performance and propose improvement opportunities
Collaborate cross-functionally with teams on process performance and improvement opportunities
Learn various systems used in the day to day work of the analyzed processes
Prepare presentations to leadership on Business Transformation 2019 goals progress and results
Regular and consistent attendance at our office location
In order to be a successful intern, you will need to possess the following background/experience:
Ability to apply critical thinking skills to solve business problems
Ability to think and operate independently; motivated self-starter
Ability to use statistical/probability techniques and tools when analyzing data sets
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Superior organizational skills
Ability to work in a team environment
High attention to detail
Strong technical skills/proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneDrive, SharePoint)
Current students with at least 80 hours coursework completed towards Bachelors degree, preferably in Industrial Engineering or Business Administration / Management. First year MBA students strongly encouraged.
Demonstrated critical thinking skills
Self-starter and able to effectively operate independently
Excellent project management, interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to drive and implement ideas in a high-pace, changing environment
Analytical and process improvement mindset; ability to solve highly strategic and difficult business problems
Demonstrated academic success (minimum of 3.0 GPA)
Have authorization to work in the United States; does not require sponsorship
Previous experience using statistical software such as Minitab
Exposure to Lean/Six Sigma concepts and principles
Experience using MS Project and MS Visio applications
Prior work experience, co-op or internships in financial services or professional services
General investment/independent broker-dealer industry knowledge
Career interest in financial services and wealth management
