Laboratory-based research and patient-oriented clinical studies have international stature and often involve extensive collaborations with academic and industry partners regionally, nationally and globally. Administrative functions ensure that there is safe, ethical and responsible conduct of research and facilitate research management and interfaces with other units in the Hospital and Institute. JOIN US NOW as we are seeking a RESEARCH TECHNICIAN to perform complex and novel procedures as a laboratory professional with a great degree of independence under the general supervision of a Principal Investigator (PI). Uses proven or develops, as needed, new scientific method(s) for new and routine experiments. Provides guidance to all personnel working in the laboratory. Maintains expertise on all matters concerning assigned laboratory personnel, equipment, and procedures. This position is critical to the success of St. Joseph's Hospital Medical Center and requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Dignity Health. Applicants are expected to have an excellent track record of basic science research including skills in molecular biology, PCR, cloning, Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and cell culture. Our lab focuses on stroke and pre-clinical applications and a background or interest in this field is desirable. Successful candidates will be open-minded with a willingness and desire to learn new techniques, energetic, reliable, and interested in pre-clinical model surgeries and behavioral testing. The candidate must be comfortable working with and handling pre-clinical models. Excellent project management and interpersonal skills are critical and the ability to write and edit manuscripts beneficial. QualificationsMinimum Requirements:
Two (2) years prior experience in a research, clinical, or other scientific environment required.Bachelorâ s degree required. BS degree in Molecular Biology, Animal Science, Physiology or closely related field.Familiar with laboratory techniques. Working knowledge of the scientific method. Familiar with basic computer skills required. Preferred:
