ProKarma currently has an exciting opportunity for an Automation Architect that would like to join our team as a full-time employee in Phoenix, AZ.

  • Provide business, data, application and technology consulting for team members and business partners
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the technology teams for project level architecture and design work
  • Partner and collaborate with VPs on client assessments, strategies, metrics and pre-sale activities
  • Review and approve project level architecture and designs for technology projects and create these artifacts as needed on large, complex initiatives
  • Deeply analyze business processes and technologies to discover and refine client needs
  • Work collaboratively with clients with varying expertise and exposure to DevOps in order to solve complex problems
  • Develop solutions to varying challenges using: Languages such as Ruby, Python, Node.JS (Javascript) and RSpecTools such as Puppet/Chef, Vagrant, Packer and Beaker
  • Possess working knowledge of object oriented and scriptedprogramming
  • Pull strings with Puppet and cook some recipes up with Chef
  • Use and adapt to different configuration management tools as required by clients and to compare/ contrast their merits
  • Mentor delivery team leads and developers
  • Act as a liaison with other architects (security, infrastructure, data, etc.) and with delivery teams working primarily within an Agile (Scrum/Kanban) methodology
  • Translate requirements into functional service designs and create service models along with supporting documentation (activity and sequence diagrams)
  • Seek out and identify opportunities to reuse enterprise technology services
  • Ensure service designs adhere to standards, principles and governance processes
  • Provide design documentation in sufficient detail to estimate effort and validate final implementation
  • Perform peer reviews of designs and solution proposals to ensure conformance to current practice and quality of work being generated
  • Write unit and acceptance tests for modules
  • Implement scalable architecture
  • Engage client in issue resolution/ decisions and drive alternatives
  • Think about how to make improvements
  • Be unafraid to implement changes that increase account success and client satisfaction

  • Qualifications
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology or equivalent experience.
  • 2 or more years experience designing and implementing DevOps solutions in an IBM Mainframe environment including use of: ISPW, Topaz, RDz, FileAid, Xpeditor, SonarQube and TotalTest
  • 5 or more years experience in systems architecture
  • 4 or more years open-source software tools and development experience in one or more of the following: Ruby, Python, Node.JS (Javascript), RSpec, Puppet/Chef, Vagrant, Packer and Beaker
  • 3 or more years experience developing applications using Agile principles
  • 2 or more years experience with a formal configuration management tool such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or SaltStack
  • 2 or more years experience using Source Control tools such as Git or Subversion. Git knowledge is a must
  • 3 or more years' experience integrating automation workflow tools (Jenkins/ Hudson/ uDeploy) with configuration management tools (Chef/ Puppet/ SaltStack/ Ansible)
  • 2 or more years experience using cloud based hosting solutions (AWS-EC2/ S3, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • 1 or more years experience designing and implementing horizontally-scalable applications
  • Experience with RSpec/ Serverspec/ Beaker for unit/ acceptance tests
  • Experience installing, configuring, and managing scalable configuration management master servers
  • Software development or DevOps automation background
  • Strong skills in understanding organizational process issues and essentially taken an organization from a Level 1 maturity to a Level 5 maturity
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and ability to drive a DevOps strategy with a customer
