Job Overview



Primary Purpose and Essential Functions: Provide analysis, fleet design and pricing data as well as recommendations for Dedicated Services opportunities.
  • Construct the optimal fleet designs for independent dedicated customer accounts based on unique customer requirements while adhering to internal company policies/procedures as well as Department of Transportation (DOT) and local, state and federal regulations.
  • Analyze large datasets associated with Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and/or line haul bids to determine required resources, provide estimated productivity levels and maximize on equipment usage; evaluate and reconcile data from multiple sources to identify business needs.
  • Effectively utilize route optimization and other specialized, algorithm-based software applications, requiring extensive training and technical proficiency to assist in the generation of engineered, cost effective fleet solutions.
  • Perform qualitative cost analysis in order to develop, determine and provide sustainable, cost effective fleet solutions; obtain, analyze and input cost data for dedicated fleet opportunities in pricing model.
  • Analyze existing Dedicated business utilizing profit and loss statements, operating and billing histories, existing pricing models, and design assumptions to address financial results and performance; complete specialty pricing requests utilizing cost based pricing to recommend and/or justify price.
  • Conduct financial modeling; compare and contrast a series of operational solutions for each independent account as necessary in order to mitigate potential exposure to the company; collaborate with designated internal department personnel to recommend and/or reinforce courses of action to attain established goals for return and profitability.
  • Prepare comprehensive proposals and/or responses to RFPs which include descriptions of design methodology, pricing assumptions, type and quantity of assets, labor requirements, productivity projections, cost, and value-add.
  • Research pricing strategies/data and provide recommendations to improve company's pricing systems and procedures; collaborate with Dedicated Sales and Executive teams to devise solution and pricing strategies.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner which facilitates the success of business operations in order to meet company demands and expectations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
  • Skills: Strong statistical computation and analytical skills including interpretation of customers' business needs; understanding of cost and activity-based accounting; familiarity with financial performance measures and calculations; ability to convey complex ideas and actively seek information for the formulation of bids; creative thinking beyond the boundaries of common industry practices; strong PC skills to include proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; effective written and verbal communication skills with ability to interact professionally with diverse groups including executives, management and subject matter experts; strong interpersonal skills; knowledge of emerging industry practices; self-starter who needs little direct motivation and supervision and can actively contribute to internal process improvement; ability to plan and organize; strong stress tolerance with ability to engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED. Baccalaureate from accredited university or college preferred - in one of the following areas: Mathematics - Business Administration - Finance - Logistics/Supply Chain Management - Industrial Engineering.
  • Experience Required: Four (4) years transportation or logistics experience required. Attainment of a Baccalaureate from an accredited university or college may substitute up to two years required experience.

    Required Education
